9-12 Grade Summer School Program

Fox C-6 offers both in-person and virtual summer school coursework for students entering 9th - 12th grades. Courses are available for credit recovery and accelerated learning. For specific information about each of the types of courses and which classes are available, please review the information below. In-person summer school classes for the summer of 2025 will be held at Seckman High School. Please note that school bus transportation is not provided for students enrolled in the 9-12 grade summer school program.
9-12 Summer School Course Options

Credit Recovery
Credit recovery is for students who earned an F in a core subject area (language arts, science, social studies, or math) and would like to utilize summer school to earn credit. Each summer school course allows students to recover one semester of credit. Students can use the credit recovery option for up to three courses (1.5 credits). Students who request to take three Credit Recovery courses must take at least one of them virtually.Courses available for Credit Recovery are:
- Language Arts I
- Language Arts II
- Language Arts III
- Language Arts IV
- Algebra I
- Geometry
- Algebra II
- American History
- World History
- Government
- Physics and the Earth
- Environmental Science
- Biology
- Health
- Physical Education
*All credit recovery courses will have the option to be taken virtually or in-person. -
Accelerated Learning
The Accelerated Learning option is for students who would like to use summer school as an opportunity to earn credits in elective courses. Whether a student wants to get ahead on credits or complete an elective so they have an additional hour for band, choir, or AP courses, this is a great opportunity to do so. Students can use the accelerated learning option to take up to two elective courses (1.0 credit).

- Physical Education (In-Person or Virtual)
- Virtual Art 1, Semester 1
- Virtual Business Management and Entrepreneurship
- Virtual Child Development
- Virtual Interior Design
- Virtual Music and Culture
- Virtual Personal Finance
Unless stated otherwise, Accelerated Learning courses are offered in the virtual format only.

Are students required to use district-owned Chromebooks for virtual summer school coursework?
No. Students may use their own devices as long as those devices can access the Canvas and APEX online platforms.

My student turned in their Chromebook at the end of the school year. How do they get one to use during summer school?
Students can check out a Chromebook to use during summer school. Students or their guardians can complete the form below to request one.

What learning platforms will be utilized during virtual summer school?
All classes taught through the accelerated courses will be offered on the Canvas program. All credit recovery classes will be done through the APEX program.

How do students log in to Canvas and APEX?
There are no passwords specific to Canvas and APEX. Instead, students will utilize Google single sign-on through Canvas and APEX and log in with their @foxc6.org Google accounts.

When will students get access to their summer school courses?
Teachers will make contact with students by the first day of summer school, May 29.
