Kristin Darnell Approved as New Building Principal at Rockport Heights Elementary

During last week's Board of Education meeting, the Fox C-6 Board of Education approved Ms. Kristin Darnell as the new Principal for Rockport Heights Elementary School, beginning July 1, 2025. Ms. Darnell is replacing Mrs. Janine Hueter, who recently announced that she plans to retire at the end of the school year.

Ms. Darnell currently serves as the Assistant Principal at Rockport Heights, where she has served in that role for eight years. Prior to moving into the assistant principal role Ms. Darnell was the PE teacher at Rockport Heights for eleven years. Ms. Darnell served as the Fox C-6 Summer School Coordinator for five years and also in the principal and assistant principal positions for summer school.

Ms. Darnell earned a B.S. in Physical Education from Eastern Illinois University, a Master of Education degree from Lindenwood University, and an Educational Specialist - Superintendent Degree from Missouri Baptist University. Ms. Darnell has strong roots in the Fox C-6 School District, as she attended schools in the District throughout her childhood. She is a graduate of Seckman High School.

As is the case with all of our candidates, Ms. Darnell completed a rigorous interview and selection process. She received positive reviews from the hiring committee of parents and staff. Ms. Darnell also went through a final round interview process with myself and Dr. Bain. We are all very proud of Ms. Darnell and are pleased to announce that the Board of Education approved her for this position.

I am certain that we will continue to see Rockport Heights students and staff thrive under her leadership.  Please join us in congratulating Ms.Kristin Darnell on her new role at Rockport Heights Elementary!

Respectfully,

Dr. Paul Fregeau
Superintendent
