Salsman Approved as New Principal at Fox High School
During Tuesday night’s Board of Education meeting on December 17th, the Fox C-6 Board of Education approved Mr. Joe Salsman as the new Principal for Fox High School, beginning July 1, 2025. Mr. Salsman is replacing Dr. Sherp, who recently announced that he plans to retire at the end of the school year.
Mr. Salsman currently serves as an Assistant Principal at Fox High School, where he has been
since 2008. Prior to serving at FHS, Mr. Salsman taught at Lindbergh High School for a year, before coming to the Fox C-6 District to become the Physical Education teacher at Sherwood Elementary. He then became the P.E. teacher at Seckman Elementary, where he served for 10 years before coming to Fox High. Mr. Salsman also has multiple years of coaching experience in the district.
Mr. Salsman earned a B.S. in Physical Education (K-12) from the University of Missouri St. Louis, a Master of Education degree from Southwest Baptist, and an Administrative and Specialist Degree from Missouri Baptist University. Mr. Salsman has strong roots in the Fox C-6 School District, as he attended schools in the District throughout his childhood.
He is a graduate of Fox High School, and helps lead the Fox High School Alumni Association. As is the case with all of our candidates, Mr. Salsman completed a rigorous interview and selection process. He received very positive reviews from the hiring committee, consisting of parents and staff. Mr. Salsman also went through a final round interview process with myself, Tracy Haggerty, and Dr. Cardona. We are all very proud of Mr. Salsman and are pleased to announce that the Board of Education approved him for this position.
I am certain that we will continue to see FHS students and staff thrive under his leadership.
Please join us in congratulating Mr. Salsman on his new role at Fox High School!
Respectfully,
Dr. Paul Fregeau
Superintendent
