2024-2025 Free & Reduced Meal Application Available Now

Each year, families who may qualify for free or reduced-price school meals need to apply for this benefit. ALL FAMILIES are encouraged to complete the free and reduced meal application to see if they qualify for these benefits. In addition to providing an important financial benefit to families, completing the free/reduced meal application can benefit families and Fox C-6 in a variety of ways:

  • Tuition Assistance - Some programs offer local scholarships and tuition assistance for dual credit and AO courses and discount fees on applying for college.
  • Academic Tests - Some students may qualify for reduced registration fees for AP, SAT, and/or ACT exams.
  • Chromebook Insurance - Families who qualify can receive a reduced or waived fee on annual Chromebook insurance.
  • School Funding - The percentage of families that qualify for free and reduced meals impacts the district’s federal funding for student academic support, including staff training, equipment, and supplies.

More than a Meal Application

In addition to providing an important financial benefit to families, completing the free/reduced meal application can benefit families and Fox C-6 in a variety of ways:

  • Academic Tests - Some students may qualify for reduced registration fees for AP, SAT, and/or ACT exams.

  • Chromebook Insurance - Families who qualify can receive a reduced or waived fee on annual Chromebook insurance.

  • School Funding - The percentage of families that qualify for free and reduced meals impacts the district’s federal funding for student academic support, including staff, training, equipment, and supplies.

Based on the district's current percentage of students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals, Fox receives federal funding for the following full-time positions:

  • 5 reading specialists - teachers focused on providing targeted reading instruction to students in need
  • 5 math specialists - teachers focused on provided targeted math instruction to students in need
  • 1 English Language Learner teacher - a teacher who works with students whose native language is not English
  • Salary for the Director of Federal Programs and an administrative assistant - staff who manage federal funds, grants, and other federal programs. 

Even if you do not believe your family will qualify for free or reduced price meals or if your family does not wish to take advantage of this benefit, completing the application can help Fox C-6 receive federal funds for staffing and other needs.
